President Obama's Proposed Spending Freeze
The President has announced that he will propose a spending freeze taking effect in 2011. This freeze effects discretionary spending. It does not, however, effect the billions of dollars already at his disposal in the Tarp and Stimulus plans, nor will it effect medicare, medicaid and anything else they can manage to put under the umbrella of these two programs. This proposal comes after he has increased spending in the areas he plans to freeze by 24% in the last year.
What do you think...will the American people buy this "olive branch" or will they see it as a ridiculous gesture after he has already spent billions? Has he finally woke up? Is this just another populous move? Is he worried about the cows getting out after he opened the gate?
